Lead Unity Engineer

Join Built Games as a front end lead of an exciting sports app! Work in an existing Unity codebase to help deploy the initial launch of a server-authoritative client and a near endless supply of killer updates.

This is a full time contract position for the duration of the project. Full time position possible based on performance.

Job Responsibilities

Your job is to work closely with the producer and existing team to implement the front end that will delight our users. You will...

  • Own front end implementation based on guidelines set by our senior staff

  • Code in Unity, C#

  • Work hand-in-hand with the backend team to plan, design and implement client-server functionality

  • Work closely with our internal team and partners to hit deadline with high predictability

  • Participate in daily meetings with the dev team and keep up active communication

  • Work with our submissions team to deploy builds directly to iOS App Store, Google Play Games, and Amazon

Required Qualifications

  • Has a solid understanding of US Sports including Baseball and Basketball

  • Shipped 1+ games as the lead engineer mobile in unity

  • Proficient in C#

  • Strong knowledge of server-authoritative architecture

  • Strong debugging skills with ability to work in a large existing codebase

  • Ability to work well in a fluid, changing indie environment as creative challenges evolve

  • Able to easily collaborate with all team members; engineers, artists, designers and beyond

Ideal Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in mobile app development

  • BSc in programming, game development

  • Work at Built HQ in Los Angeles, CA

  • Able to learn new systems/concepts and implement them quickly

  • Located in Los Angeles, CA

  • Likes the Red Sox, Dodgers and/or the Cardinals

  • Can beat Kevin in Basketball

  • Own implementation end to end based on guidelines set by our senior staff

  • Code in Unity, C#

  • Integrate new third-party ad, analytic, and similar SDKs

  • Adapt an existing engine to suit your needs

  • Minor backend interaction & setup through existing platforms such as Playfab

  • Work closely with our internal team and partners to hit deadline with high predictability

  • Participate in daily meetings with the dev team and keep up active communication

  • Work with our submissions team to deploy builds directly to iOS App Store, Google Play Games, and Amazon
